Überblick
Michal helps clients navigate the complexity of financial services regulations and face regulatory challenges arising from current geopolitical trends. He is recommended by Legal500 for “compliance, risk mitigation, and internal investigations”, which are listed as areas of his “particular strength”.
He has extensive experience advising companies operating in a wide range of sectors, including banking, fintech, crypto, as well as derivatives and structured products. He assists with the structuring of crypto activities in the UK and EU, the marketing of investment funds (including in tokenised form) in the UK and various EU jurisdictions, and complex transactions involving derivatives and securitisation.
Michal is a trusted advisor to clients facing regulatory challenges arising from sanctions, export controls, tariffs, national security and foreign investment, anti-money laundering, and cybersecurity regimes. He helps private equity firms assess and investigate risk exposure in the context of pre-transactional due diligence, with a specific focus on companies operating in the most sensitive sectors (including military, dual-use, data centres, semiconductors, and crypto) or jurisdictions.
Michal also acts as a bridge between his clients and UK and EU regulators in relation to matters involving authorisation applications, admission to trading (including notifications of white papers required under the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA)), change of control, major shareholding and short position notifications and disclosure, regulatory reporting, and applications for licences or clearance under sanctions, export control, and national security regimes.
