American Conference Institute’s 39th International Conference on the FCPA

McDermott is proud to sponsor and participate in the 39th International Conference on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the world’s largest, most anticipated gathering for the anti-corruption community.

Partners Ben Curtis, Ted Diskant and Sarah Walters are attending and speaking at the international flagship conference, hosted by the American Conference Institute (ACI). They’ll join in-house investigations and compliance counsel, general counsel, chief legal officers, chief compliance officers, and partners from law firms and accounting firms to discuss the latest on the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) new enforcement posture, the biggest risks to address in 2023 and more during the three-day program.

On Main Conference Day 1, Ted Diskant is moderating “Internal Investigations and Crisis Management” during Breakout Session A. Ted’s panel will discuss best practices for managing internal investigations and reputational management, starting from the first signs of a compliance issue to successful resolution.

Immediately following, Ben Curtis is leading the Special Industry Group Networking Break for the Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical industries. The group will exchange best practices for managing heightened risk affecting businesses.

On Main Conference Day 2, Sarah Walters is speaking on a panel about “Life During and After an FCPA Settlement.” Sarah and her co-panelists will share first-hand accounts of the challenges and successful strategies that were implemented during and after enforcement actions, as well as lesser-known, on-the-ground takeaways for confronting worst-case scenarios.
