5th Energy Transition Forum 2024

Overview

Trump’s Energy Plan: Outlook on the Market and Renewable Energy Policies Under the New Administration

Carl Fleming, a McDermott renewable energy and project finance partner, will present to members of US Congress and top energy executives at the 5th Energy Transition Forum 2024, hosted by U.S. Energy Stream.

Among other items, Carl will be presenting on his outlook on the market and renewable energy policies:

The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022’s (IRA) future under the new administration. Having worked in the Obama administration and then advising the Obama, Trump, and Biden White Houses, Carl will provide his views on the administrative and political underpinnings of the IRA and how the IRA will continue to drive renewable energy initiatives forward.

The IRA will continue to have an impact on the new energy investing landscape. Drawing on his experience of leading more than 80 post-IRA transactions, which included debt, tax equity, and direct transfers, Carl will offer his insights into the new investing landscape.

The rise of data; the convergence of artificial intelligence, data centers, and renewables; and how to bridge the gap between them. Increased data consumption and processing are reversing a more than 10-year trend of stagnant US load growth, resulting in a massive boon to renewables deployment. Carl will share examples from his digital infrastructure experience that show how power access constraints will drive demand for onsite power solutions, paving the way for more substantial sustainable solutions.

Renewables as a key driver for more US jobs and improved energy security. The need for domestic energy has never been greater. One of the fastest and most cost-effective ways to supply this demand, ensure energy security, and create millions of US jobs and billions in US economic growth in the process is through developing a massive amount of US-made wind, solar, and battery assets at the ready.

The Energy Transition Forum is a private, invitation-only meeting for exploring energy strategies and policies that may be implemented under the new administration. All proceedings are off the record, not for attribution or dissemination, and fully closed to the members of the press.

Stay tuned for key takeaways following the presentation!
