Michelle K. Tassinari, Director and Legal Counsel for the Elections Division, and Keryn Cadogan, CIO, of the Office of the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth will give an update on election cyber threats and defenses, as well as efforts in Massachusetts and at the national level, including their new Election Security Partnership program. They will describe COVID-19 impacts on the election process, as well as developments stemming from the Goldstein case locally. Both Michelle and Keryn have extensive experience in the precautions and activities undertaken by the Secretary of State, and are knowledgeable about those at the national level, including other states and through CISA at the Dept. of Homeland Security.

Michael Kaiser, Pres. and CEO of Defending Digital Campaigns (DDC), a national bipartisan project, approved by the Federal Elections Commission, providing cyber precautions and help to campaigns across the country, will describe what DDC does for campaign security and how they help harden campaign cyber defenses. DDC has a well-developed cyber outreach program for campaigns, training for campaign staff, and software vendors offering services on a pro bono basis to campaigns. He will also discuss what lessons have been learned in 2020, including those for future campaigns
