Business Entity Classification: Pass-through or C-Corp?

Overview

Partner Richards Dees will be part of an esteemed panel of experts exploring business entity classification in the aftermath of the 2017 tax act, for a live webcast hosted by J.P.Morgan on June 19, 2018.

Since the 2017 tax act altered the landscape for pass-through entities and C corporations, many business owners, family offices and investment vehicles have been evaluating changes in their entities’ classifications. This discussion will address the legislative process, entity choice considerations, possible guidance and planning implications.

Classification is more than turning a switch on or off and—as the panel will explain—it may require rethinking the number and structure of, as well as the relationship among, various business and investment entities.
