How to Figure Out Your Information Blocking Exposure: Which Penalties and Disincentives Might Apply to You

Overview

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) established three types of “actors” that are subject to information blocking regulations – healthcare providers, health IT developers, and health information exchanges and networks (HIE/HIN). Provider organizations that offer data sharing technology or services to other groups may fit the definition of more than one type of actor, and that comes with additional compliance requirements and potential penalties. Join McDermott Will & Emery along with Advisory Board experts for a breakdown of how to assess what type of actor you are and how the information blocking policies affect you.

During this webinar you will learn:

  • What information blocking is and key dates
  • Implications of information blocking for providers
  • How to assess whether your organization is also considered a health IT developer or HIE/HIN for information blocking
