Medicare Advantage and Part D Final Rule: New Requirements for PACE

Overview

On April 4, 2024, the US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a final rule revising the regulations governing Medicare Advantage, Part D and Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). The final rule finalizes several key provisions that were first proposed – but never finalized – in a proposed rule originally published on December 14, 2022.

This webinar covered the meaningful new compliance obligations for PACE organizations announced in the final rule, including:

  • New timeframes for PACE organizations to arrange for the provision of approved clinical services and prescribed medications
  • Requirements for interdisciplinary care teams to update participant care plans more frequently
  • Formal processes for participant grievances, including an obligation that they be resolved within 30 days
