Partner John T. Lutz chaired a panel on ‘A Token Gesture: Tax Considerations for Cryptocurrencies and Utility Tokens’ at the New York State Bar Association’s (NYSBA) Tax Section Summer Meeting, hosted in Portland, Maine on June 22 – 24, 2018.

This panel focused on the tax consequences to both issuers and purchasers of cryptocurrencies and utility tokens, and discussed the two types of cryptocurrency “forks” (hard forks and soft forks) and SAFE (Secure Access For Everyone) networks.
