Peter Faber wrote this bylined article blaming state tax “sins” on what he called “the political immaturity” of citizens. “Voters complain about a lack of government services but are unwilling to pay for them,” Mr. Faber wrote, leading state lawmakers and revenue authorities to “squeeze more revenue from the existing tax base than is justified by sound tax policy and reasonable procedures.”
