Amandeep Sidhu Named “Rising Star” by Diversity & The Bar

Overview

August 4, 2017 – McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that partner Amandeep Sidhu has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Diversity & the Bar, the flagship publication from the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA). The publication profiled 11 lawyers whose accomplishments and dedication to the legal field and their respective communities places them among those to watch in the profession.

Mr. Sidhu was noted for his exceptional skills as a litigator, where he focuses on complex commercial disputes with an emphasis on regulated industries, including health care-related investigations and litigation. Mr. Sidhu represents hospitals and health care companies in investigations and defense of qui tam whistleblower litigation involving federal False Claims Act (FCA), Stark Laws and Anti-Kickback Statue in federal district courts throughout the United States.

Mr. Sidhu was also recognized for his role in co-founding the Sikh Coalition, “the largest legal advocacy organization for the Sikh American community.” Mr. Sidhu and his team partnered with the Sikh Coalition on an eight-year multi-front battle that, in early 2017, effectively eliminated the US Army’s presumptive ban on observant Sikh Americans serving in its ranks. His tireless pro bono work has achieved groundbreaking successes for Sikh soldiers and helped break barriers that had forced Sikh soldiers to choose between their faith and service to their country.

Over the past two months, Mr. Sidhu was also named to Washington Business Journal’s “40 Under 40 List,” which highlights 40 of the Washington DC area’s top business professionals under the age of 40, and recognized as an Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business by the Asian American Business Development Center.

Mr. Sidhu actively serves as a long-time member of McDermott’s Pro Bono & Community Service Committee, as well as the Racial and Ethnic Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
