NEW YORK (May 4, 2023) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that it has been named a finalist for M&A Advisor of the Year as part of The Insurer’s Program Manager Awards 2023.
Led by partners Michael Halsband and Mike Byrne, McDermott’s Insurance Transactions team has a depth of experience advising strategics and private equity firms in the sale, purchase, merger and disposition of insurance companies, program managers, producers, MGAs and wholesalers.
Recent representations include:
- Brit Insurance Holdings Limited, in its sale of Ambridge Group, the managing general underwriter operations of Brit, for $400 million to Amynta Agency Inc., a premier insurance services company with more than $3.5 billion in total managed premiums.
- Transverse Insurance Group LLC, a US-based based hybrid fronting insurance company and part of the Virgo Investment Group’s portfolio, in its agreement to be sold to Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd., a member of the MS&AD Insurance Group.
