New York/Washington, DC (June 20, 2023) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that partners Joseph (Joe) B. Evans and Kate McDonald have been named Law360 Rising Stars for their work in the areas of FinTech and Health Care, respectively.
As co-head of McDermott’s FinTech & Blockchain Practice and head of Crypto Litigation and Regulatory Defense, Joe leads the industry’s only crypto-exclusive team whose members spend 100% of their time serving the crypto industry. He represents companies and individuals in all aspects of crypto and blockchain-related legal matters, spanning from defending government investigations, pursuing cutting-edge crypto litigation, obtaining money transmitter and other state licenses, and advising on initial coin offerings.
Kate serves as Partner-in-Charge of the Healthcare practice in Washington, DC, and represents clients across the healthcare industry on complex regulatory matters and high-stakes mergers and acquisitions, affiliations and other investments. Kate is regularly called on by health plans, provider organizations, technology start-ups, private equity funds, retailers and other clients to benchmark risks, solve regulatory challenges and structure transactions, particularly those that involve federal and state healthcare programs.
