Overview
Ethan M. Heller focuses his practice on corporate and transactional matters with an emphasis on regulatory strategies involving cryptocurrency, blockchain, fintech and web3 companies. Ethan specializes in helping crypto and web3 builders, investors and other market participants navigate an emerging and rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. Ethan represents and advises cryptocurrency companies and other digital payment platforms on anti-money laundering, regulatory, sanctions and other compliance issues.
Ethan regularly assists in the nationwide roll-out of cryptocurrency exchanges, novel fintech enterprises and other technology companies by handling state-by-state money transmitter licenses, alternative licensing obligations and seeking no action relief. Ethan’s experience offers practical knowledge regarding banking regulations, money transmitter laws, securities regulations, custodian laws and commodities regulations as they pertain to fintech and cryptocurrency companies. Ethan further assists financial services firms and others in negotiating and drafting technology agreements, terms and policies for all types of services in light of the constantly evolving regulatory issues arising from the use of blockchain and other technologies.
