Overview


John DeWitt focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation. He represents clients in the management consulting and healthcare industries. John also maintains an active pro bono practice focused on civil rights litigation.

Prior to joining McDermott, John honed his legal research and writing skills as a law clerk in the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan. In that role, he drafted opinions, researched complex legal questions and assisted the district judges with issues of statutory interpretation, constitutional construction and civil procedure.

During law school, John served as a managing editor of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal and interned for Judges Theodore D. Chuang, George J. Hazel, and Roger W. Titus in the US District Court for the District of Maryland.
