S.J. Ronen-van Heerden is part of the cryptocurrency team, focusing his practice on corporate and transactional matters involving licensing and regulatory issues for blockchain, cryptocurrency, and FinTech companies.
Previously, S.J. worked on complex civil litigation and the audit of bankruptcy trust claims and personal injury claims processors. His experience includes conducting compliance reviews of asbestos-related personal injury claims under a national matrix of settlement agreements, as well as executing multi-issue research and investigatory projects related to asbestos bankruptcy trusts.
Prior to joining McDermott, S.J. was a volunteer for a nonprofit organization where he researched legal issues related to human trafficking, homeless youth and access to legal services for indigent persons.
