Erin Turley Elected as Fellow of American College of Employee Benefits Counsel

DALLAS (August 1, 2017) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Erin Turley, partner in the Firm’s Employee Benefits practice in Dallas, has been selected to be inducted as a Fellow of The American College of Employee Benefits Counsel (ACEBC).

ACEBC is a national professional organization of lawyers who have made outstanding contributions to the field of employee benefits. Election as a Fellow is the highest recognition by peers of excellence in the field of employee benefits. Membership is by nomination only – it is limited to those who have at least 20 years of experience in practicing employee benefits law, and demonstrate a sustained commitment to raising public awareness and understanding of benefits law through writing, speaking, public policy analysis, public education and/or public service while also maintaining a high level of professional services to clients, the bar and to the public. Induction of the new Fellows will take place on October 14, 2017 in San Francisco, California.

Erin Turley focuses her practice on employee benefits matters. She has extensive experience handling issues pertaining to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs). She also advises employers on the design, implementation and administration of tax-qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, and health and welfare benefit plans. Erin regularly represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor.

Erin is experienced in working with employers, vendors and health plans to design and implement a variety of health and welfare plans structures. She also has experience in other welfare benefit programs including commuter benefit plans and paid time off banks. She also advises employers on issues raised in connection with corporate mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. She writes and speaks frequently on ERISA and ESOP issues.
