McDermott Enhances Cross Border Dealmaking Capabilities with Arrival of David M. Grimes
NEW YORK – McDermott Will & Emery today announced the arrival of cross border dealmaker David M. Grimes in the Transactions Practice Group in New York. With more than 30 years of experience, David represents companies and private equity firms in their acquisitions, dispositions and joint ventures as well as banks and other financial institutions in their financing transactions and restructurings.
David established himself as a leader in the legal industry after co-founding Reed Smith’s office in Paris, acting as managing partner of the New York office and serving as head of its Cross Border Transactions Practice Group. David has built an excellent reputation as a corporate practitioner with an extensive deal sheet and recognition from M&A Advisor for “Cross Border M&A Deal of the Year.” His work spans a variety of industries, with particular experience in life sciences, media, industrials and manufacturing and financial institutions.
“In increasingly global and interconnected markets, our clients rely on us to help them navigate transactions that cross jurisdictions and require seamless collaboration and communication,” said Harris Siskind, global head of McDermott’s Transactions Practice Group. “With his experience handling complex deals and relationships with multinational companies and funds, he will undoubtedly reinforce McDermott’s place as a leading transactional firm in both the US and Europe.”
McDermott was ranked Tier 1 for mid-market M&A by Legal 500 in 2018 and has consistently demonstrated a deep bench of talent and the prowess needed to handle the changing business demands of leading companies.
“McDermott has a truly global platform and provides sponsors and companies with comprehensive and strategic counsel by encouraging collaboration and drawing on the skills and diverse experiences of lawyers across its offices,” Grimes said. “I am excited about the prospect of leveraging the firm’s robust Paris and London teams and existing dealmaking capabilities in Europe to offer clients top-tier services across their business needs.”
David received his JD from the Emory University School of Law and his BA in Economics from William & Mary.
