Megan M. Preusker focuses her practice on restructuring and insolvency matters. Megan has experience in corporate and municipal bankruptcies, out-of-court restructurings, and secured and unsecured creditor and debtor-side representations.
Previously, Megan served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Jeff Bohm of the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas in Houston. While in law school, she was a member of the Moot Court Honors Council and served as executive student publications editor of The John Marshall Law Review. In addition, Megan served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Bruce W. Black of the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She also served as a legal extern for the US Department of Justice US Trustee Program and as a law clerk at two Chicago law firms.

- Represented Quorum Health Corporation and its affiliates, the leading operators of rural, general acute care hospitals and outpatient services in the United States, in their pre-packaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases in Delaware. Implemented a successful restructuring of approximately USD 1.5 billion of funded debt, resulting in the deleveraging of Quorum’s balance sheet by approximately $500 million, all during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Represented an indenture trustee on behalf of holders of approximately $64 million in outstanding hospital revenue bonds in connection with the hospital’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, which included negotiating a sale through the bankruptcy plan that resulted in the bondholders being paid 100 percent of par at closing
- Represented a neurological monitoring company in filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Delaware, including the sale of substantially all of its assets pursuant to Section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code
- Represented an indenture trustee on behalf of holders of approximately $45 million in revenue bonds associated with a continuing care retirement facility in connection with the facility’s prepackaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, resulting in the plan of reorganization being confirmed within two months of filing
- Represented a wholesale distributor of grocery products in the Chapter 11 filing of its sole supplier in Delaware, including the pursuit of approximately $20 million in set off and administrative claims and the defense against threatened assertions of fraudulent conveyance claims
- Represented a French company in disputing US bankruptcy court jurisdiction with respect to a Chapter 15 bankruptcy proceeding initiated by an Australian company in Delaware
