Tom Ryan is a 30-year veteran of the Firm. Tom’s practice focuses on healthcare litigation.
Tom currently represents healthcare providers in mass tort litigation involving claims of institutional negligence and fraudulent concealment. These cases often involve allegations of violation of healthcare regulations. These cases are typically brought as class actions or coordinated/consolidated cases behind designated lead bellwether cases. Tom also represents healthcare providers in antitrust cases and False Claims Act cases. These claims typically also involve allegations of violations of federal or state healthcare regulations.

- Defended a surgery center company against an antitrust action filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California (Bay Area Surgical Management v. Aetna, et al.)
- Defended a hospital system against a Qui Tam False Claims Act case filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California (Lindersmith v. John Muir Health)
- Defended a hospital system against a Qui Tam False Claims Act case filed in the Superior Court in Sacramento County (Martin v. Universal Health Services)
