Tom Ryan is a 32-year veteran of the Firm. Tom’s practice focuses on healthcare litigation. He has represented major health systems against claims of institutional negligence, fraudulent concealment and unfair business practices, often involving allegations of violation of federal or state healthcare laws and regulations. These cases are often brought as class actions or coordinated/consolidated cases behind designated lead bellwether cases. They are also often brought as antitrust cases, 17200 cases and Qui Tam False Claims Act cases.

  • Co-counsel to the University of New Mexico in a class action in state court asserting alleged misconduct in the University’s pediatric cancer program (Cummings et al. v. Regents of the University of New Mexico)
  • Co-counsel to the University of Southern California concerning litigation in the US District Court in Los Angeles, litigation in the Superior Court in Los Angeles and ongoing governmental investigations involving alleged misconduct at the University’s Student Health Center (In re Student Health Center Litigation and Doe v.
