Neville Wright focuses his practice on all aspects of corporate taxation with a particular focus on the finance and real estate sectors. He has advised a range of corporate entities, including banks, non-bank lenders, listed property companies and real estate funds and also has significant experience in advising private property companies and high net worth individuals, both in the United Kingdom and internationally. He has a wealth of experience in acquisition finance, real estate lending, sharia compliant financing, securitization and structured finance transactions. He also advises on property developments, both commercial and residential, joint ventures and forward funding and regularly handles first time investments in real estate in London for international investors.

  • Acted for Sequoia in relation to the real estate aspects of a mezzanine financing deal, in respect of the acquisition of 23 UK-based care homes. This included real estate advice in relation to a sale and leaseback of the portfolio to a long-term income fund, as part of the overall funding for the acquisition. Also subsequently advising this client on the real estate aspects of various other financing transactions
  • Advising the Soller Group in relation to its acquisition of a large London office building, including tax and structuring advice in respect of the related sale and leaseback of the property to a long-term income fund. Subsequently advising Soller on its occupational letting of the whole building to WeWork
  • Advised one arm of a family business in relation to a care home acquisition, development and related JV agreement with a well-known senior living provider in the southeast of England. Work included negotiating and agreeing DMA and PMA documents, and advising on the JV’s working and operational arrangements going forward
  • Acted for a consortium of South Korean institutional investors on their purchase of a long leasehold interest in Tesco’s distribution centre at Avonmouth for £71.4 million from NFU Mutual Insurance Society. Also acted upon the acquisition of a Jersey Property Unit Trust owning the freehold interest in Accolade Park, Bristol for £62 million for South Korean institutions*
  • Advised Ares European Loan Management LLP as collateral manager in respect of the issuance of notes by Ares European CLO VI B.V., Ares European CLO VII B.V., Ares European CLO VIII B.V. and Ares European CLO IX B.V Also acted for Ares European Loan Management LLP as collateral manager in respect of the reset of notes issued by Ares European CLO VI B.V. and Ares European CLO VII B.V.*
  • Advised on the sale of a 50% interest in SPV Jersey company owning Watermark Place, 1 Angel Lane, London by Oxford Properties (the real estate arm of OMERS pension fund), to Union Investment Real Estate GmbH and simultaneous refinancing of the property. Also advised on the subsequent sale by Oxford Properties of their entire interest in the Green Park estate in Reading to Singapore-based Maple Tree Investments*
  • Advised Market Tech Holdings an AIM-quoted holding company that combines real estate assets and an e-commerce business, on a £900 million refinancing arranged by AIG Asset Management of its Camden portfolio*
  • Advised Round Hill Capital on their purchase of a student housing portfolio from Blackstone comprising 2526 beds across student sites in Kings Cross, Notting Hill and Spitalfields*
  • Advised Access Self Storage (and associated group companies) on (a) a group reorganisation and (b) its £250 million refinancing of long-term debt (originally provided by five different lenders but refinanced by two: HSBC and the Prudential*
  • Advised Quintain Estates and Development plc on its acquisition of Lend Lease’s 50% interest in the Greenwich Peninsula development joint venture and the formation of a new joint venture with Knight Dragon Limited*
  • Advised Rothesay, Dongbu and Partnership Life as investors in connection with the issue by Extra Holdings Limited of £220 million fixed rate secured privately placed notes*
