The application of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is less than a year away. However, it seems that most Japanese companies are not yet prepared to comply with it. We therefore would like to guide you through the challenge of complying with the EU GDPR; first by explaining the advantages of compliance with it; then by setting out main points to note in complying with it; and lastly by suggesting specific preparations for compliance. Acknowledging that it is a very tough challenge for any company, we wish that our article will be of assistance to you.
