Overview
Munich, February 8, 2022 – McDermott Will & Emery advised the shareholders of SCL GmbH on the sale of all their shares in the company to Solenis Germany GmbH & Co. KG. The specialty chemicals manufacturer now holds 100 percent of SCL.
SCL GmbH, based in Butzbach and with a production site in Ludwigshafen, was formed in 2009 as part of a carve-out from BASF SE. At that time, entrepreneur Siegfried Menk and co-investor Dr. Georg Kosing, together with the investment company VR Equitypartner, took over the chemical niche division of the chemical group. SCL is now one of the leading suppliers of dimethylaminoethyl acrylate (DMA3), a building block for clean water.
Solenis is a leading global manufacturer of specialty chemicals focused on sustainable solutions for water-intensive industries. Solenis Germany GmbH & Co. KG is part of Solenis LLC (USA).
