Kimberley Smith focuses her practice on commercial litigation and arbitration. She has considerable experience in contractual dispute proceedings before the High Court, in particular in the energy, commodities and construction fields.

- Acted for claimants in a four week Commercial Court trial in relation to an investment dispute concerning a joint venture concerning a large scale and high profile construction project in Germany. Successful settlement after trial*
- Acted for a high-net-worth Nigerian individual in respect of a High Court claim brought by the vendors of a property in North West London following the aborted sale of that property*
- Acted for a Swiss EPC contractor in connection with disputes relating to liquidated damages, revenue credits and the construction of an EfW plant in the United Kingdom*
- Advised a global oil and gas company in respect of numerous legal issues arising from the construction of twin state-of-the-art FPSOs, with particular reference to issues arising out of variation orders, liquidated damages claims, extensions of time and concurrent delay*
- Represented a Qatari investment company in respect of a US$ 33 million High Court claim brought against the government of a West African country for breach of contract*
- Assisted an international bank with the management of long running litigation in the Republic of Turkey*
- Advised a Swiss minerals trader on the enforcement of a US$ 6m LME Arbitration award*
- Represented a Russian investment company in respect of a EUR 1.3 million High Court claim brought against a joint venture partner for fraudulent misrepresentation*
