Overview
Ludwig Zesch advises national and international private equity funds, corporate borrowers, debt funds and financial institutions on a range of complex domestic and cross-border financings. His practice includes acquisition finance, direct lending, leveraged buyouts and corporate financing.
Ludwig has particular experience handling significant acquisition financings involving a range of debt structures, including unitranche/super senior structures.
Prior to joining McDermott, he worked for other leading international law firms with the same advisory focus in Munich and Frankfurt.
Ludwig is the co-author of Acquisition Finance Agreements in Germany, a comprehensive commentary on credit agreements for leveraged buyouts under German law.

- Contentserv Group and its majority shareholder Investcorp on the acquisition of the French software company Shoppingfeed
- VR Equitypartner on the acquisition of a significant minority stake in Midoco Holding
- Apera Asset Management as lender on a variety of unitranche financings, including the financing of the acquisition of (i) Factor Eleven by Armira, (ii) Vice Golf by Oakley and (iii) GFP by Riverside *
- BayWa AG on their syndicated ESG linked credit financing*
- Equistone Partners on the financing of the acquisition of (i) Bien-Zenker and Hanse-Haus and (ii) United Initiators*
- FSN Capital on the financing of the acquisition of (i) iMPREG and (ii) Altium’s TASKING business*
- Pemberton Asset Management as lender on a variety of unitranche financings, including the financing of the acquisition of BE-terna by DPE*
