Overview
Michael J. Tang focuses his practice on assisting high net worth individuals, closely-held businesses and family offices with all aspects of income, gift and estate tax planning. He regularly creates and implements tax-efficient structures to provide for the transition of generational wealth and business succession planning. He also works closely with private foundations and tax-exempt organizations, counseling them on matters ranging from formation and obtaining of tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service, to complying with state and federal tax-exempt laws.
An active member of the community, Michael currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors for the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA) and regularly volunteers at legal clinics across Southern California to provide legal services to low-income families. Through these efforts, Michael is a prior recipient of APABA’s Pro Bono Volunteer of the Year Award.
