Frankfurt (October 2, 2017) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce it has welcomed Simon Weiß as part of its growing team in Capital Markets in Germany.
Simon advises issuers, underwriters and other market participants across a broad spectrum of capital markets matters. He concentrates his practice on initial public offerings, capital increases, rights offerings, secondary placements, equity-linked transactions as well as high yield and investment grade debt transactions. In addition, he advises clients on capital markets regulatory related issues as well as general corporate law matters.
Simon will join the firm as Counsel in the Frankfurt office. Before joining McDermott Will & Emery, Simon Weiss worked for a number of years at leading international law firms in Frankfurt and New York.
Simon will strengthen the Frankfurt Capital Markets team, led by Joe Marx and Philipp von Ilberg, with a particular focus on expanding the offering of McDermott’s Frankfurt practice through equity-linked products such as convertible and exchangeable bonds.

Through this hire, McDermott moves closer to reaching its goal of a full service legal offering with 100 lawyers in Germany. Partners Dr. Michael Cziesla and Markus Hill and Counsel Norman Wasse joined the Frankfurt office at the beginning of the year. Additional hires of partner candidates are planned in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich.
