McDermott & Will Emery advised Ardian, a leading global private equity firm, on its acquisition of a minority stake in Strategie Media Conseil, a digital platform for luxury real estate listings and intermediary properties, via the websites Résidences Immobilier and Maisons & Appartements.
Founded in 1994 by Jean-Pierre Cohen and Eric Bernt, the Stratégie Media Conseil (SMC) group is now one of the leading digital real estate advertising platforms in France, putting future owners or tenants in touch with nearly 2,000 real estate agencies. SMC has nearly 50 employees.
Initially a real estate press publisher and active in the Côte d’Azur region, the group has taken a digital turn by proposing an offer adapted to the evolution of its clients’ business and to the market’s expectations. SMC has also initiated the duplication of its model in new strategic regions thanks to its Salesforce and its proprietary software tools.
Ardian Growth’s acquisition of a stake in the group will enable SMC to expand in the French market by broadening its service offering and its geographical reach, thereby strengthening its position as the leader in online real estate listings for luxury and intermediate properties. To this end, the group will be able to draw on Ardian Growth’s technological and sector expertise, its global presence and its network of entrepreneurs.
