London, 8 October, 2021– International law firm McDermott Will & Emery announced today the appointment of US securities and corporate finance lawyer Siddhartha Sivaramakrishnan as a partner in its global Transactions practice. Siddhartha’s practice is focused on Asia Pacific (APAC) markets as well as across the EMEA region. His arrival further strengthens the Firm’s thriving securities and capital markets capabilities while his deep experience in Singapore as an APAC hub will provide added value to clients operating or investing in this dynamic and fast growing region.
Siddhartha joins from another major international law firm where he led its US securities practice in Asia Pacific and its capital markets practice in Southeast Asia and India. He has deep experience of bringing issuer companies and sponsors, underwriters and investors together in the technology, healthcare and biotech sectors, and a strong record of financing major energy and infrastructure projects, including renewables, energy transition and ESG investments. His broader sector experience also includes financial institutions, media, real estate, consumer and retail.
Siddhartha also advises on financial institution regulatory and compliance matters, including cross border regulatory and licensing issues, insider dealing and market abuse, senior managers’ responsibilities and conduct and the impact on market participants of US and European financial regulatory change.

Siddhartha studied law at Oxford and Yale universities and is a member of the New York bar and the England and Wales bar. He has two decades of experience in complex cross border equity and debt capital markets financings across APAC, EMEA and the United States, several of which have been market firsts and won industry awards.
As well as growing its capital markets practice globally, McDermott continues to expand its ranks, notably adding strength across the Transactions Group. Most recently, six transactions partners joined in cities across the US, alongside corporate and private equity partner Kashif Siddiqui in London earlier this week.
