McDermott Continues To Strengthen Its Transactions Capabilities With Appointment Of New Finance Partner In Germany

Overview

International law firm McDermott Will & Emery continues to strengthen its Transactions Practice Group in Germany with the appointment of Ludwig Zesch as a partner in its Munich office. Ludwig advises national and international clients on banking and finance law.

“The addition of Ludwig to our transactions practice is very exciting, as he fits our strategy to develop our private equity and acquisition finance/LBO offering in Germany,” said Harris C. Siskind, Global Head of McDermott’s Transactions Practice Group. “He is a superb acquisition finance lawyer with a proven track record of advising clients on complex banking and finance matters.”

With over a decade of experience, Ludwig specializes in acquisition finance, direct lending (including unitranche and super senior structures), leveraged buyouts, structured finance and corporate finance transactions. He represents banks, debt funds, private equity funds and corporate borrowers in a range of domestic and cross-border finance transactions.

“We are thrilled that Ludwig has joined the Firm, for he’s an outstanding lawyer and a great fit for the team,” said Dr. Jens Ortmanns, Managing Partner of the Düsseldorf Office. “We continue to build our transactions practice in Germany with the recent hires of private equity partners Holger Ebersberger and Hanno M. Witt in Munich and M&A partners Rolf Hünermann and Philip Schmidt in Frankfurt.”

“McDermott’s international platform and its strong corporate and private equity credentials present a great opportunity to develop my practice,” Ludwig said. “Furthermore, the Firm’s comprehensive private equity offering will significantly benefit my clients, helping them achieve growth and navigate current challenging market conditions.”

McDermott’s transactions practice in Germany includes corporate/M&A as well as capital markets, banking & finance, private equity, real estate and restructuring & insolvency. The practice group currently counts 90 lawyers throughout Germany.
