Frankfurt, August 2, 2022 – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery represented lifespin GmbH on the establishment of a research cooperation with Biobank Graz and the Clinical Department of Oncology of the Medical University of Graz.
Subject of the cooperation is the expansion of lifespin’s proprietary database of metabolic human health profiles in the field of oncology. Under the agreement, lifespin will be able to analyze and capture the metabolic profiles from more than 25,000 longitudinal human blood samples involving approximately 4,800 oncological patients. This significant expansion of lifespin’s existing and proprietary database will enable lifespin to further improve the existing algorithms of lifespin’s proprietary software to help healthcare providers detect disease earlier and more reliably tailor treatment and monitoring options for patients using metabolomics as a valuable guide.
lifespin GmbH, based in Regensburg, Germany, with offices in Boston, is a deep-data company that combines biology, deep data, artificial intelligence and cloud technologies that maps the metabolic profiles of healthy and diseases people to enable precision diagnostics and personalised disease management. The company is developing an automated, highly scalable and cost-effective platform for next-generation health diagnostics. By using artificial intelligence and machine learning, deviations in a person’s metabolism from the healthy baseline of relevant peer groups can be identified in their database.
Biobank Graz, Austria, is one of the largest clinical biobanks in the world, storing around 20 million individual samples of body fluids and human tissue.
