With nearly a decade of experience focused on data privacy law, Pilar advises health, life sciences, robotics, artificial intelligence, ad tech, retail, telecommunications, media, internet of things, cloud services and financial organizations on local and global solutions for their data and privacy compliance issues. She has extensive experience working with in-house lawyers on global compliance projects and liaising directly with business and technical teams to achieve effective and practical legal implementation.

Pilar has a strong track record in the life sciences sector where she advises sponsors, clinical research organizations, manufacturers and distributors on their data protection issues in the context of clinical trials, digital health, pharmaceutical drugs and medical device product counseling.
Before joining McDermott, Pilar gained experience from a top-tier international law firm in the fields of data and technology. Before that, she worked at a large American multinational technology company for several years focusing on Privacy and Product Compliance for cross-border launches within various businesses.
Pilar also maintains an active pro-bono practice, assisting various organizations in fulfilling their data protection requirements and other compliance needs.
