McDermott Advises Engie on the Sale of Culturespaces to IDI and the Chevrillon Group

Overview

McDermott Will & Emery is advising Engie, a global leader in energy & related services, on an agreement to sell Culturespaces to the consortium formed by IDI and the Chevrillon group, alongside the management team.

Culturespaces is a French specialist in the full scale management of cultural venues, and a global pioneer in the establishment of digital art centers and immersive exhibitions.

This transaction is the next step in the implementation of Engie’s strategic plan, initially presented in May 2021, and is also part of the Group’s strategic plan to refocus its activities on its energy-related core business.

By backing Culturespaces with financial partners, the transaction should allow the development efforts made by Engie and the management team in the development of the company to go from strength to strength.

The McDermott team that advised Engie comprised:

  • Bertrand Delafaye, partner, Louis Feuillée and Shurong Qu, associates, on corporate aspects
  • Laurent Ayache, partner, and Charlotte Michellet, Counsel, on regulatory aspects
  • Jilali Maazouz, partner and Nicolas Chaubet, associate, on employment law
