Banks in Germany will have to come to terms with low attendance rates for the time being, even though they have vaccinated thousands of employees, their relatives and, in some cases, external service providers through their company doctors since the spring.
“As long as there is uncertainty about the proportion of those vaccinated in the workforce, the hygiene concept must be geared toward protecting all employees as if they were not vaccinated,” says Thomas Gennert, a lawyer at McDermott Will & Emery in Düsseldorf.
Discussions continue: While the numbers of fully vaccinated people rise, employers still have no legal right to ask for their employees’ vaccination status.
