ESG is a key topic of the hour in transaction practice as well. Hardly any deal is concluded without the target, and sometimes also the buyer, first being screened from an environmental, social and governance perspective. Driven by the EU’s Green Deal, climate factors are of particular importance – reducing emissions is at the top of the agenda. With the war in Ukraine, there is also the challenge of developing alternative sources of energy and to reduce energy consumption.
