McDermott Advises on Financing the Acquisition by Texthelp of The Lingit Group, a Global Leader in Cloud-Based Assistive Technology and Learning Analytics for Education

McDermott Will & Emery advised the lenders on financing the acquisition of The Lingit Group, a leading educational software company, by Texthelp, an existing portfolio group of Five Arrows Principal Investments. Texthelp and Lingit will work together to bring tools to students in more countries, making an impact on even more people’s lives.

The Lingit Group develops and provides assistive technology to individuals with reading and writing disabilities. The Lingit Group is the largest European provider within this area and provides products both through partners and its own presence in the Nordic and West-European regions.

Founded in 1996, Texthelp has established itself as the global pioneer and leader in cloud-based assistive technology and learning analytics for the education and corporate sectors. The company has supported 30 million students and employees worldwide with reading, writing, and numeracy as well as productivity challenges, including those with dyslexia or working in a second language. Current customers include some of the largest school districts in North America and Australia, schools and businesses across the UK and the Middle East as well as Government and Fortune 500 organizations.

Five Arrows Principal Investments is the private equity arm of Rothschild & Co that focuses on investing in lower-middle market companies in Western Europe.

This transaction follows McDermott advising on the financing of Five Arrows’ acquisition of Texthelp earlier this year.
