Represented an international television studio in connection with its sale of its subsidiary and the formation of a joint venture
Prevailed on motion for summary judgement in a dispute between a sports and talent agency, two sports agents who defected from the agency, and their new employer, a management agency
Won summary judgment for a major video game publisher in an action brought by a rock band claiming that their right of publicity in their unique sound was violated by a publisher’s use of re-recorded cover version of their hit song in a popular video game
Advise an international entertainment company on a range of privacy and security matters, including reviewing and revising privacy policies, the development of COVID-19 policies and practices, and reviewing security and privacy provisions of third-party agreements
Represented a media conglomerate with the tax structuring of the transfer of a sports team, their field and other related assets
Defeated an attempt to overturn a lower court decision in favor of a major theme park; the matter involved a five-year battle in which multiple plaintiffs have challenged the sufficiency of the reduced wait time accommodations at entertainment park for persons with autism; also represented this client in several other Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and state law challenges in Texas, Florida and California
Represented a national television network in a putative class action brought by plaintiffs who alleged various wage and hour violations related to required quarantine while working on productions during the COVID-19 pandemic
Advised the Special Litigation Committee of the board of directors of an entertainment company in connection with its investigation of derivative stockholder claims challenging a three-part $600 million transaction
Representing the NCAA in the defense concussion cases, in which student athletes in several sports are alleging that the NCAA, along with various universities, coaches, trainers, doctors and medical practices, are responsible for concussion-related injuries suffered while they were engaged in inter-collegiate sports
Advise a national sports league on the negotiation and administration of a league-wide disability insurance program
Advised and represented a major Hollywood studio in matters pending before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and involving Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE)
Represent one of the world’s largest talent media agencies in trademark, copyright and related matters
