What’s Brewing for 2022? The Top Trends to Watch For This Year

Overview

Over the last year, the alcohol industry has continued to feel the impact of COVID-19. From distributors and manufacturers to retailers and the hospitality industry overall, everyone had to adapt quickly or risk being left behind. Industry players needed to take a dynamic approach in order to meet consumers needs and achieve their strategic goals during this period of prolonged uncertainty. The long-term effects of the pandemic have not only influenced the way that alcohol beverages are made and sold, but has also influenced the attitude of consumers and the beverages they now demand. While these factors are helping to drive innovation in the alcohol industry, some pandemic trends will invariably persist as we slowly transition into post-COVID life.

Join McDermott’s alcohol regulatory team to learn which major trends from the COVID-19 era are here to stay, which will inevitably fade and what new trends will appear in 2022.

Our program will cover:

  • Diversity and inclusivity initiatives in the alcohol industry and how brands are investing in minority-owned businesses in the coming year
  • E-commerce and the rise of direct-to-consumer (DTC) shipping
  • Over-saturation of the hard seltzer market and how beverage makers will differentiate from the competition
  • The struggle to meet demand in a strained supply chain despite heightened demand for alcohol products

Continuing legal education (CLE) Credit will be offered. Minimum continuing legal education (MCLE) credit is pending in California, Illinois and New York. A Multi-Jurisdiction Certificate of Attendance will be made available to participants requesting MCLE credit in all other jurisdictions. To be eligible to earn a CLE certificate, you must attend the entire webinar. Credit for partial attendance will not be provided.
