Overview
Anouk Edelstein provides the Firm’s private clients and their families with a range of services related to trusts and estates. She strategizes and implements tax-efficient plans by crafting primary estate plans, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trust agreements, powers of attorney, and advance directives. These plans integrate international considerations, prenuptial and marital planning, regulatory compliance, life insurance planning, entity formation and management, and account for estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxation issues.
Anouk supports clients with their gifting goals, including creating and administering charitable organizations and preparing gift tax returns. Additionally, she assists families with special needs planning and has experience establishing conservatorships. She also facilitates post-mortem administration, completing trust and estate administrations and probating complex estates in California.
As part of the Firm’s Private Client Disputes Group, Anouk represents fiduciaries in contested matters in state and federal court. She has also assisted clients in obtaining favorable rulings from the Internal Revenue Service.
While in law school, Anouk was a judicial extern for Magistrate Judge Beth W. Jantz of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. In addition, she was the managing production editor for the Northwestern Journal of Law & Social Policy and also served as the communications director of the Women’s Leadership Coalition and vice president of the Real Property Trusts & Estates Legal Society.
