McDermott Will & Emery UK LLP are hosting a presentation and panel discussion in relation to undertaking M&A, restructurings and fundraising in these challenging times in the oil and gas industry. We will be hosting a number of experienced and influential external panel members from the industry to take part in what we hope will be an interactive, informative and stimulating discussion.

Panel members include:

John Bell – Managing Director, Gulfsands Petroleum PLC

John Bell is a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years’ experience in the energy sector having worked at Vice President or Managing Director level at BP, Statoil AS and Suncor Energy (Syria). Previous company directorships include also Gulf Keystone Petroleum and Tethys Petroleum Limited. He has spent a large part of his career in the Middle East, as well as time in North Africa, Former Soviet Union, the Americas, the United Kingdom, North Sea, Scandinavia & the Caribbean.

Stephane Foucaud – Managing Director, FirstEnergy Capital LLP

Stephane Foucaud is Managing Director of Institutional Research at FirstEnergy Capital LLP. Before joining FirstEnergy, he was Head of Oil and Gas Research at Fox Davies Capital and Senior Oil and Gas Analyst at Société Générale in London, covering Royal Dutch Shell, BP, BG Group, Statoil and Cairn Energy. Stephane has also previously worked for Schlumberger for seven years in various technical, operational management and corporate strategy roles.

Jim Tucker – Joint Administrator and Restructuring Partner, KPMG

Jim Tucker is Joint Administrator and Restructuring Partner at KPMG UK and has acted as Joint Administrator for a variety of high profile and net-worth companies including First Oil Expro, TES Group, Aero Inventory and American Apparel.

Lisa O’Neill – Partner, McDermott Will & Emery

Lisa O’Neill advises oil and gas companies on a wide range of matters, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, fundraising, commercial contracts and disputes. Lisa focuses particularly on the oil and gas sector, advising clients such as major international oil and gas companies, independent oil and gas companies, corporates, financial institutions and private equity funds.

Alicia Videon – Partner, McDermott Will & Emery

Alicia Videon specializes in restructuring, insolvency and non-performing loan sales. She has over 25 years’ experience representing lenders and borrowers, as well as distressed investors and other stakeholders, involved in local and multi-jurisdictional situations. Alicia also advises buyers and sellers of distressed debt, assisting in negotiating and documenting trades and implementing trading and investment strategies.
