Overview


Ian B. Brooks has developed a diverse intellectual property practice. He has litigated patent issues through trial and appeals—leading teams at all stages of litigation. Ian’s experience has included patent matters involving computer, wireless communication, semiconductor fabrication, and pharmaceutical technologies in district courts, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, the International Trade Commission, and the Court of Federal Claims. Ian has also litigated trade secrets, trademark and copyright cases, and advised clients in intellectual property transactions. Ian represents a broad range of organizations from startups to Fortune 500 companies.

In addition, Ian has represented clients pro bono in veterans benefits appeals, immigration status adjustments, and tenant eviction disputes.

Results


  • Successfully obtained complete and favorable jury verdict in favor of Next Caller on claims of trade secrets misappropriation, international interference with perspective business relations, and breach of contract (TRUSTID, Inc. v. Next Caller Inc.)
  • Obtained jury verdict of non-infringement of three patents in favor of Next Caller (TRUSTID, Inc. v. Next Caller Inc.)
  • Obtained favorable settlements on behalf of Bausch Health in Hatch-Waxman litigation involving the assertion of twelve patents against 19 generic ANDA filers (In re Jublia)
