Marc Sorini told the Brewers Association that a new government ruling which says essentially all category management practices are inducements “doesn’t really spell out what constitutes exclusion” which may threaten a retailer’s independence. “These programs are initiated by the retailer, and in today’s economy the large chain retailer has the most economic leverage,” he continued, so government regulators have “left us all guessing.”
