Lydia Kelley was profiled along with her law school classmate Rebecca Eisner for their unique roles as managing partners of their respective firms’ major Chicago practices, the only two women in such leadership roles among the city’s 20 largest law offices. In 2014 Ms. Kelley assumed leadership of McDermott’s Chicago office, with 258 lawyers, succeeding Nancy Gerrie. Ms. Kelley, whose practice focuses on transactional tax advice, said she and Ms. Eisner “were not afraid to ask questions” throughout their careers, and for both women “the ability to share with, learn from, and lean on each other has never wavered.”
