Michael Peregrine emphasized the need for collaboration among Chief Compliance Officers (CCOs), General Counsel and the board, especially in healthcare organizations. He cautioned that “the idea that compliance may have lost its pizzazz is a risk that must be addressed,” and called friction between the CCO and GC “a complete waste of time,” adding that management and the board need to better define the roles of both jobs to eliminate grey areas.
