Peter Leone focuses his practice on the representation of hospitals, outpatient and skilled nursing facilities, and other health care providers in financial reimbursement, licensure, regulatory compliance and due diligence matters, including in mergers, reorganizations and change of ownership/control transactions.
More specifically, Peter has represented hospitals and other providers in Medicaid, Medicare and commercial health insurance plan reimbursement matters and appeals, including formal reimbursement appeals to the Medicare Provider Reimbursement Review Board, in the review of those appeals by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator and in judicial review of those cases. He has also represented hospitals and other providers in determination of need, licensure, provider enrollment and compliance proceedings. His recent experience includes working on state regulatory change of ownership and restructuring proceedings for hospitals, nursing and assisted living facilities, and behavioral health providers.
