Jeff Miller* advises clients in the health care, defense and intelligence industries in areas including lobbying, government contracting and Congressional investigations. Jeff is a former seven-term Republican US Congressman, who served Florida's First Congressional District, from 2001 to 2017.
During his time in Congress, Jeff was the highly respected chair of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee for the maximum six year period. In 2014, he played a key role in the Veteran Access to Care Act (H.R. 4810; 113th Congress), a $16.3 billion bipartisan bill to reform the US Department of Veterans Affairs. He also served for eight years on the House Intelligence Committee and as a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee. After 15 years in Congress, Jeff is well known by members of the Administration and a number of leaders of the various Departments.
Jeff has extensive experience advancing Republican legislative initiatives within Congress, having sponsored numerous bills including to establish a commission or task force to evaluate the backlog of disability claims of the Department of Veterans Affairs (H.R. 2189, 113th Congress); the TSA Loose Change Act (H.R. 1095; 113th Congress); the GI Bill Tuition Fairness Act of 2013 (H.R. 357; 113th Congress); and the Department of Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act of 2014 (H.R. 4031; 113th Congress).
From 1998 to 2001, Jeff served in the Florida House of Representatives, where he was a member of the committees on Congressional Redistricting, Council for Ready Infrastructure, and Rules, Ethics & Elections, and—during his second term—chairman of the Utilities & Telecommunications Committee.
