Overview
Schulte Roth & Zabel partner Joseph Gambino spoke with Law360 about his move to the firm’s Finance Group — a key step in Schulte’s ongoing strategy to expand its capabilities on both the arranger and manager sides of the collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) market.
“I’ve been across from Schulte many, many times, stretching all the way back to the beginning when I was a very junior lawyer. Schulte has always been a well-known and well-respected commodity in this space,” Joe stated.
Joe focuses on CLOs and specialty finance transactions and also brings experience in asset-backed securities, which is a growing area of demand in the firm’s finance practice.
“CLOs had another record year last year, a couple of years behind the previous record in 2021, so we’ve just seen the growth of CLOs really put a strain on a lot of the service providers in the space,” he said. “So being able to enhance the capabilities and the capacity of an already existing platform should really help capture more market share on both the manager side and the arranger side of the business.
