June 18, 2025 – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that William Merry has been named Associate of the Year as part of The Lawyer Awards 2025.

A senior associate in McDermott’s London office, William focuses his practice on a range of domestic and international corporate crime and investigations-related matters, with particular experience in resolving anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, fraud and sanctions matters in both contentious and non-contentious contexts. His work includes handling investigations and prosecutions brought by the Serious Fraud Office, the Financial Conduct Authority, HM Revenue & Customs, the Crown Prosecution Service, the National Crime Agency, Companies House and others, as well as the conduct of internal compliance investigations.

In addition to his client work, William co-chairs McDermott’s Wellbeing Committee in London and serves as a trustee on the board of the Mindful Business Charter, a charity focused on improving mental health in the legal profession.
