Overview
Benjamin Cooper represents institutional and individual clients in complex commercial litigation, consumer class actions, and government and internal investigations and enforcement actions. He is skilled at navigating cases that involve overlapping civil, regulatory, and criminal exposure, and delivering pragmatic counsel in high-profile, high-stakes matters.
In his broad litigation practice, Benjamin handles matters involving securities and financial fraud, commercial contracts, civil Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) claims, bankruptcy disputes, and shareholder actions related to fiduciary duty and corporate governance issues. His clients include multinational corporations, investment funds, proprietary trading firms, and corporate executives in industries ranging from FinTech and blockchain to healthcare, all of whom he represents throughout all phases of federal and state court proceedings.
During law school, Benjamin served as an Alexander Fellow for the Honorable Nicholas G. Garaufis of the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
