Overview


Milo Molfa is Co-Head of the London Trial Group and focuses his practice on complex, high-profile international commercial arbitrations, investor-state disputes under public international law, and state court proceedings ancillary to arbitration across a wide range of industries, including airlines, aviation and aerospace, automotive, construction and infrastructure, energy, media and advertising, oil and gas, and metals and mining.

Over the past 16 years, Milo has acted as lead counsel and advocate in no less than 70 international investment treaty arbitration, international commercial arbitrations, and state court proceedings ancillary to arbitration across the globe.

Milo was awarded Arbitration Lawyer of the Year in 2024 (international arbitration), 2025 (foreign arbitration) and 2026 (energy arbitration) by Legal Community, a leading Italian legal directory.  He is consistently ranked and mentioned by international legal directories including Chambers and Legal 500.

Ongoing matters

  • Representing Itinera S.p.A., an Italian multinational infrastructure company, as claimant in Danish-seated arbitration proceedings arising out of a design and build contract for the construction of the Storstrøm bridge, Denmark’s third largest bridge, under the Rules of the Danish Building and Construction Arbitration Board.
  • Representing Tecnimont S.p.A., an Italian multinational contractor, and its Russian subsidiary, MT Russia LLC, as claimants and counterclaim respondents in ICC, London-seated arbitration proceedings against one of the world’s largest fertilizer manufacturers, arising out of contracts for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of a fertilizer plant, performance of which was affected by financial and trade sanctions enacted in 2022 by the EU in response to Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine.
  • Representing Tecnimont S.p.A. and MT Russia LLC as claimants in English court proceedings for the enforcement of peremptory orders obtained from an ICC, London-seated arbitral tribunal under section 42 of the English Arbitration Act, directing the respondent entity to withdraw proceedings instituted in breach of the underlying arbitration clause in Russia, India and Malaysia.
  • Representing Tecnimont S.p.A. as a non-cause of action defendant in English court proceedings instituted by the beneficiary of certain on-demand payment bonds intended to secure Tecnimont S.p.A.’s performance of EPC contracts in Russia.
